Leo Chou

Dr. Leo Chou is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he leads research at the intersection of DNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and immunoengineering. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto and postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chou's work has earned him recognition as a Rising Star Faculty by the Biomedical Engineering Society in 2023 and a Connaught New Researcher Award in 2022. His research, supported by numerous grants, focuses on developing DNA-based tools for manipulating immune responses and creating molecular computing systems. Dr. Chou has published extensively in high-impact journals and holds multiple patents on related technologies.
