Loryn holds a Ph.D. in Polymer and Materials Chemistry, specializing in the synthesis, modification, and characterization of complex nanomaterials for cellular applications. This technical expertise provides a solid foundation to support research and development in materials science. Following her doctoral studies, Loryn transitioned into business, scientific, and regulatory consulting, where she advised a diverse range of companies—from startups to large enterprises—in the manufacturing, testing, and sale of controlled substances across Canada and the US. Her work focused on navigating complex regulatory frameworks, optimizing business operations through market and financial analysis, and fostering successful vendor and partner relationships.

As a key member of the Business Development and Partnerships team, she accelerates materials development and commercialization by fostering impactful collaborations at the intersection of science, technology, and business.
