Daniel holds a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and uses his mechatronics training to bring automation to life in the laboratory. With a background in product development for electrochromic windows, Daniel has experienced firsthand the scaling of technologies from the lab bench to R&D to industry. Since 2020, Daniel has been part of the team at UBC that developed Ada, the world's first self-driving lab for materials, and continues to develop hardware and software solutions to enable materials science research. He is excited to leverage all of his experiences to contribute towards the development of other SDLs at the Acceleration Consortium as a Staff Scientist.
