Brandon Sutherland

Brandon joined the Acceleration Consortium from his role as Executive Director of A3MD, a multi-institutional initiative to accelerate the discovery of materials using high-throughput experimentation and artificial intelligence. Prior to this, he was one of the founding editors for Joule, a scale-spanning energy research journal. Brandon holds a BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering from University of Waterloo and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Toronto. Brandon’s research experience spans the development of new materials for clean energy systems and semiconductor devices. Outside of research, you can find him bruising his knees diving for volleyballs around Toronto.
