This versatile MAP focuses on accelerating the development of soft matter systems through data-driven synthesis, formulation and analysis of colloids, polymers and nanomaterials.
Ongoing projects include:
1. Sonochemical synthesis of nano particles, quantum dots and emulsions.
2. High-throughput synthesis and characterization of deep eutectic solvents.
3. Formulation of conjugated polymer blends.
4. Optimization of hydrogel-based modular bioreactors for synthetic biology.
The MAP uses nimble reconfigurable hardware and also develop and test our own new high-throughput methods in-house. Target applications range from healthcare and pharmaceutical products to clean energy production/storage and sustainable manufacturing. The equipment for the lab is supplied by Opentrons, xenocs, BioTek, MetrOhm, QSonica, and custom built open hardware.
