The goal of Robot-Accelerated Perovskite Investigation and Discovery (RAPID) is to develop automated, high-throughput robotic platforms for metal halide perovskite discovery and to facilitate the generation of models to understand their formation. It uses multiple robot-friendly synthetic workflows in conjunction with ESCALATE (Experiment Specification, Capture and Laboratory Automation Technology), a software pipeline for automated chemical experimentation and data management. This RAPID screening has increased the number of metal halide perovskite systems for which inverse temperature crystallization (ITC) conditions can be used to grow crystals by more than 5-fold, and resulted in the discovery of many new perovskite phases. The equipment for this MAP is provided by Hamilton Company, Greatcell Solar Materials, and Sigma Aldrich.
