An exchange for Université de Montréal students to participate in a summer internship in Toronto at the Acceleration Consortium, and University of Toronto students to participate in a summer internship at the Institut Courtois in Montréal.

The Institut Courtois of the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Arts and Science de Montréal and the Acceleration Consortium are offering a summer internship exchange program for undergraduate students interested in AI- and robotics-enabled accelerated materials discovery.  

Université de Montréal students will have the opportunity to participate in a summer internship in Toronto at the Acceleration Consortium, and University of Toronto students will have the opportunity to participate in a summer internship at the Institut Courtois in Montréal. Successful applicants will receive a $10,000 stipend.

Eligibility requirements

  • For Université de Montréal:
  • The applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at Université de Montréal in the Departments of Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science and Operations Research.  
  • The applicant must be fluent in spoken and written English. 
  • For University of Toronto
  • The applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Toronto in the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, or Computer Science.  

Application requirements

  • A cover letter that includes the applicant’s:  
  • interest in materials discovery using artificial intelligence and robotics  
  • experiences and personal qualities that position them well for a research internship
  • University transcripts
  • A resumé

Start date and duration

  • Start date: Between May 1 – May 15, 2024 
  • Duration: 3 months, 5 days a week (in person) 

Important dates

  • Applications open: March 19, 2024  
  • Submission deadline: April 8, 2024 
  • Successful applicants notified: April 19, 2024

University of Toronto students can apply via the Faculty of Arts & Science Internship Program portal. Please note this role is only available to students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts & Science Internship Program. Additional information

Successful applicants will be responsible for arranging and funding their own accommodation.  

Stipend payments will be once a month.
