About

Zahra (Sonia) Azimi Dijvejin is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Berlinguette Group at the University of British Columbia, where she is working on CO₂ electrolyzers and the development of self-driving laboratories (SDLs) for accelerated materials discovery.

She completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, focusing on metamaterials, surface modifications, and functional coatings. Prior to rejoining UBC, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Sinton Lab at the University of Toronto, where she applied her expertise in microscale interfacial engineering to CO₂ electroreduction. Her work included optimizing cell microenvironments and advancing more sustainable and environmentally friendly electrolyzer systems.
